Yellow Hat Society

An official U.S. meeting of the Yellow Hat Society was called to order by Honorary Spokesperson, Ambassador Hitty Nanny Hope. She distributed to one and all, lovely yellow hats made by Anita Christianson of Denmark, and brought to the U.S. by Nanny Hope herself. She also handed out little tags with each hat that have the flag of Denmark on them. In attendance for this first official meeting were Hittys Rose, Gracious, Missy, Estelle, Ann, Bertha, and Evalina, with Nanny Hope distributing the yellow hats and tags to everyone.

The next thing we knew, Lily Evaline and Lily Too (our little behind-the-scenes workers for the weekend) came down from upstairs where they had been making beds and straightening things up, already sporting their version of the yellow hat. Next Riley (carved by TC Vollum) popped in, modeling one of her three yellow hats (this one by Gale Lyons). Then the twins, JudyBee and Alice, came in, each wearing their hats, and finally, not to be outdone, comes Becassine, sporting TWO hats, one of yellow atop her normal white cap. Nobody, not even Becassine, wanted to be left out!

When Nanny Hope left the room at one point, the girls decided on a special project that they would do in honor of their leader, Nanny Hope. Shhh – don’t tell her. It’s a secret.

Glad I could find this old post so we know our American beginnings of the Yellow Hat Society. Anyone know where Hitty Nanny Hope is these days?
